Classic Stage Company seeks a part-time House Manager to work closely with the Audience Services Manager, Company Manager and Box Office staff to ensure the safety and satisfaction of its audience.
Duties include, but are not limited to: assisting in opening and closing the house during performances, running a concise intermission, handling late seating, and assisting with accessibility issues and special seating arrangements. The House Manager creates financial and ticketing reports at the end of each event, supervises and trains new volunteer ushers for each performance, and helps to maintain clean theater and lobby spaces.
Applicants must have knowledge of NYC fire code regulation and a fireguard certification is required. Applicants must be responsible, mature and punctual and have a high degree of problem-solving skills and be able to think on their feet while calmly controlling emergency situations. Strong communication and language skills required. Candidate must be customer-service oriented and friendly. Retail, customer service and/or basic first aid skills are a plus. Must be able to work at least three performances a week, including nights, weekend and some holidays. Applicants must be available beginning September 2016.

Classic Stage Company uses a number of volunteer ushers to assist guests to their seats during productions. While we make best efforts to give our volunteer ushers an opportunity to see the productions, in the case of sold-out shows, ushers sometimes do not get to sit in the theater. You will receive a confirmation of your scheduled performance via email.
