THE CRITICS

"There's some finely calibrated work happening at Classic Stage. Kathleen Chalfant and Marin Ireland… speak with elegiac care in a conversation that the performers suffuse with delicate sadness. Les Waters directs his two performers with a light an assured touch."
-Newsday

"Performed and staged with quiet excellence, Savannah Bay is a piece of grave beauty.
Director Les Waters stages the play with a measured hand; designer Myung Hee Cho's austere setting becomes a canvas for Robert Wierzel's exquisite lighting..."
-New Jersey Star Ledger

"Director Les Waters choreographs it all as though it were a narrative ballet, a kind of stylized, storytelling minuet. In the end it succeeds the way a sonnet that won't die in your mind does. It takes itself seriously, and its seriousness is lovely."
-The New York Times
