Get to know CSC's Education Manager, Kathleen Dorman! How long have you been at CSC? I started as an intern when I was in grad school at NYU. This will be my 5th season! Tell us about what you do on a daily basis: I work with teachers to coordinate in-school workshops and student matinees, and I create curriculum, study guides, and other materials for our education programs. I also recruit, train and manage our fabulous team of interns and teaching artists! What did you do prior to joining CSC? I worked as a teaching artist in schools all over NYC and Boston; I was also the site director of several different after school and summer camp programs. What has been your favorite CSC production to work on? I loved TWELFTH NIGHT – I thought the energy of that production really exemplified the mission of the Young Company (young actors inspiring young audiences.) What is your favorite classical work? As luck would have it, MACBETH – this season's Young Company production! I'm very excited. What do you like to do in your free time? I’m a runner – right now I'm training for my 6th marathon (NYC on 11/4.) I'm hoping to beat my current personal best time of 3:58:20. What is your favorite color? Cerulean – when I was a kid I thought it was pronounced “chlorine” which made sense to me, as pool water is generally blue. What is your favorite book? James Joyce’s Ulysses. Anytime I pick it up, I find something new. Favorite neighborhood spot? There’s a great Steelers bar on University between 10th and 11th called Reservoir – you’ll find me there every Sunday during football season!
